01The gap is structural, not personal
An agency runs the ads. A separate developer owns the site. Nobody owns the join. So the pixel is half-configured, the landing page argues for something the ad did not promise, and the lead lands in an inbox nobody automated.
None of that is anyone doing bad work. It is what happens when the seam between two competent parties is not somebodys job.
02What changes when it is one team
On Absolute the campaign and the DM booking agent were designed together, because the acquisition side is worthless if the response side drops the lead. On RENzia the campaign split by audience and the pages were built to match that split, rather than the campaign being handed a page that already existed.
03Own it end to end or hand it over cleanly
Either one group is accountable from the impression to the booked job, or the boundaries have to be documented so precisely that nothing can fall between them. In practice the first is easier and considerably cheaper.
